Why not just say it's green bean casserole?

Like I said last time, my current food choices have been somewhat eclectic to say the least. Since meat is on the "not right now" list, I was in the mood for some homestyle veggies. So I went through the Luby's drive through. In college, one of the best veggies that was served in the caf were Savory Green Beans. It wasn't until several years later that I found out that there is actually an herb or spice called Savory. I just thought they were proud of their green beans. That's was I was hoping for at Luby's.

If you recall, creamy foods are not on the positive list right now. What a devastation to find when I got home and my so longed for green beans were actually green bean casserole. BLLAAAHHH! I'm not a big fan of green bean casserole normally -- I eat the Dirkies Fried Onions off the top and call it a day. This was last week.

Today, I regained my optimism and went to the BM. Boston Market, that is. Mashed potatoes...good. Salad... good. Green beans (and yes, I did confirm before ordering that they were just green beans)... NOT good! They gave me these long, skinny, froo-froo green beans that tasted like grass. Duh-- "Boston", they're Yankees trying to sabotage my need for southern, cooked for hours, bacon and onion laden green beans. Better luck next time.

Even though I am technically down 4.2 pounds since becoming pregnant (probably because I can't find a good green bean), I felt the need to go shopping for some maternity clothes. My clothes still fit, but my waist is changing and I can't stand anything binding. I did really well at Burlington Coat Factory and got me a couple of things to get me through till some of the maternity clothes I was given fit. The check out lady asked when I was due and I told her and also told her what I said about not gaining any weight yet and she not only did a double take, but also a triple take at my bellies. I just stood there in silence, but wanted to scream, "yes, it's my own fat, not baby!" Oh well...

We are leaving this afternoon for a quick trip to Grandma's house. Actually, to Mimi and Papa's house in Alabama. Please pray for Mimi (Shannon's mom Sue), she's not feeling well but we are excited to get to see them this weekend!

I need to do a little laundry before heading out so I better stop rambling...
