So let's talk food. We had a going away party for one of our doctors yesterday. I decided to bring sweet sausage rolls (pigs in a blanket with sticky bun sauce and pecans just to make them a bit more healthy). I greatly underestimated the nauseating power of making those at 5 am!! That was the worst nausea I've had so far. These are my favorite flavors -- butter, brown sugar, honey, and piggy! But oh, the baby was not happy! I managed to complete the batch and head to work. They were a HUGE hit by the way. So at work, I'm still queezy and so I got some peices of fruit down. Then the stomach got back to normal and I was actually able to evaluate my creation myself. Yummo! Then lunch rolled around and I ate a turkey sandwich cause sandwich meat is sounding better and better and lots of chips. Why is it that chips go down so easily? Then about 10 minutes after lunch, queezy again. That is until the drive home from work. I was starving! I had to eat too, because I was about to go to water aerobics and it would be 2 hours before I got to get dinner. Then I saw the golden arches! For the first time in weeks McD's looked good to me, so I stopped and got a $1 Double Cheeseburger. You can't blame me for this because it's a mindless choice: the cheeseburger and double cheeseburger are BOTH on the dollar menu -- no brainer! It was awesome. Then queezy again, duh!
My stomach cycle has been queezy-starving-full fast-queezy-starving-full fast, etc.
So what are some of my cravings?
Fruit, cold fruit
Chips (plain salty)
Sherbert
Cold veggies - sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles
Brothy soups
What does the baby NOT like?
Sour Cream! (Sorry Taco Supreme)
Most proteins - hamburger meat, chicken, milk, fish
Pasta
Onions
Hot, thick soups or sauces
And yes, sadly, even bacon!
I hadn't thought I had any weird food things going on yet till Shannon made himself a pot of homemade pasta and sauce (see the can't do list) the other night. I decided I would have a caprese salad - tomoatoes, onions, mozzerella, oil & vinegar. So I tossed that all together and decided I needed some protein. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich should fit the bill. As I walked into the living room with salad in one hand and PB&J in the other, Shannon just looked at me in awe and said, "Yep, you're pregnant."
