We had prepared our minds for a little bit of a search. Seriously, trying to find something the size of a lima bean inside something the size of a coffee table (me) doesn't seem easy. WOW, were we wrong! BAM, there he or she was! H-U-G-E! The baby looked like a baby, not a piece of rice! Then we got to hear the heartbeat. AMAZING! The heartrate was 158. (FYI-try not to laugh out loud during the heartbeat cause it causes the sono probe to move and lose the heartbeat and then they have to find it again... slight bit embarrassing!) The baby is exactly the size he or she is supposed to be, about a centimeter and a half. While doing the sono, the doctor asked if we had wanted to find out if the baby was a girl or boy and you could have sucked all of the air out of the room and it wouldn't have been more quiet! Before we could give an answer (we were stunned cause we know you aren't supposed to be able to tell until at least 12 weeks), the doctor said "well, I can't tell you. It's too early!" He was totally tricking us. I told him I was going to be super impressed with him if could tell!
So, we've Graduated! Our infertility doctor said he'll see us back next year when it was time for the next child! We love their office, but are glad not to have to drive to it anymore. It's horrible traffic. He said by next year they will have an office open in Fort Worth! Now we make an appointment with our regular OB/GYN.
Here are some pics from the ultrasound. One shows the CRL (crown to rump length) the head is on the right and the view is from the baby's back. The next one show the heartbeat pattern. The next is from above belly view, if you use your imagination you can see the arm and leg buds. So cool!

Your post brings the memories right back! The most fun part is to look at those pictures after the baby is born and realize it's the same person. Just AMAZING! I am so so so so happy for you!
I am so excited for you guys! I knew this day would come. I can't wait to be an auntie! Let me know if you need anything.
