I went yesterday for my monthly appointment with the baby doc and everything was great! Even though I felt as if I had been drowning in water, she said that I could still be drinking more. I think I'll have to tell my boss that I need a break every 3 minutes to drink water. The baby's heartrate was 154 and SOOOO cool to hear! The blood work and tests they did last month all turned out negative -- which turns out to be a good answer! She said I could register at the hospital anytime now, so I think we'll start looking at birthing classes at the beginning of the year. It's so weird being in Fort Worth, because I don't feel like I know anything that I'm supposed to do. Everyone of my nieces and nephews have been born in the Chattanooga area. I haven't even stepped foot into the hospital I will be delivering at. It is just a year old, but still! I guess we'll have a lot to learn.
Speaking of water... I'm thinking that since people have stopped drinking bottled water as much because of the scare of plastic bottles and gone back to the tap, that there must be something in the city water that is causing everyone I know to become pregnant! It's so exciting because I hear of new friends all the time. So far, there is Melanie, Shauna, Jennifer (not Schubert!), Michelle, Stephanie, Christina, Amy, at least two other girls from church, and Robin who are all close friends that are due between March and July. And recently I found out about two other close friends that are pregnant that shall be named later -- SHHHH! (Again, not Schubert!) That makes 13! It's an epidemic. What an amazing epidemic though. At church there is a baby due April 14, April 17 (ours), and April 21! C-R-A-Z-Y! July '08 was a good month apparently :). (Shannon just told me there are two of his coworkers that are both due in April, also!)
God is so good and faithful! He also knows the big plan. My heart breaks because I had two other friends that were pregnant and due during that same time period that have both lost their babies. It's hard to rejoice and mourn at the same time. But, again, we know God is faithful and that He brings beauty from ashes.
I can't wait till next Spring. So many new friends to meet! We pray for God's protection over all these amazing gifts!
