21 weeks!

As I sit here on the couch, Adalynne is doing round-offs in my uterus! It's so neat! I can't wait for Shannon to be able to feel her. She's active mostly mid-morning (that's between 8 and 10 for those of us that work at 6) and then again when I get home from work and just right before bedtime (9 or so). I can feel her bouncing from just above my belly button down. For weeks I felt the little "flutter" but wasn't sure it was her. Then at 17 weeks 6 days, a Thursday night, I felt her for sure! It wasn't a little tapping or butterfly, it was like she was doing Taibo or kickboxing! It was the first unmistakable kick. Everyday since then she has made her presence known.

My sisters will be so proud because I finally bought some maternity pants that fit. I had some capris but it's been too cold to wear them so I was wearing some maternity pants that were a bit too big for me at this point. Shopping for clothes is a very stressful event for me and the last time I went to the Motherhood store the sales ladies were "all up in my grill!" I couldn't breathe and had to flee the store without purchasing anything. Yesterday I went to one at a different mall that my friend works at and she was so great and helped me so I could have a relaxing shopping experience.

As far as the nursery... I am suddenly feeling as if time is flying by! It still looks like a junk/guest room. I think we may limit Christmas decorating and start spending some time on the baby's room. I'm still searching for bedding. It's sort of the foundation of the room and just haven't found the right one. They are all too light pink, too much pink, too dark pink, no pink, or red (which shannon can't help but refer to as Crimson which he refuses to have in his house... I think he's forgotten that most of our house is accented in dark red). I am aslo picky (as I can be at 34 years old and first child) and want a quilt not a comforter. I'm still holding out for Pottery Barn to come out with some new styles for 2009.

Well, it's bedtime and our lingering colds we picked up in Tennessee have caused us to not be able to breathe at night. So we're going to turn our bathroom into a sauna and go to bed hoping the residual humidity will allow us to sleep through the night for the first time in a week.

I'm not sure if you have checked out this website www.babymania.com but they have a ton of bedding sets... you might want to check it out. Also, the Cracker Barrel could be a good place to find a quilt. The boys have the most adorable quilts from there -may be worth looking into as well. Just a couple ideas I thought I'd pass along. Love ya!
