U/S: $35,000... OB copay: $20... clear picture of our baby: Priceless

We FINALLY has our first regular OB appointment today. I was so anxious and so ready to get there! I was ready to see my baby! As we walked into the ultrasound room, I took one glance at the ultrasound machine and thought I was looking at one of those old 13" black and white TV's with the silver knobs. It was so old! The picture quality was very poor as well. I don't know how they will ever be able to figure out gender with that picture quality. Heard of HD anyone? We're not in CAR anymore! (Center for Assisted Reproduction - our super high tech infertility clinic!)

Solution -- I'm going to buy us an ultrasound machine. I left a message for Tom Cruise, but he hasn't returned my phone call yet. I found a good one for $35,000. Of course I could settle for a used veterinary one for $7,900/OBO. Wonder if they would take $250?

But even though the picture quality was lacking, it was unmistakable that our baby was boogying down! From the first instance of the exam, baby was jammin'... jumping, stretching, kicking. At one point we could see it raising one hand praising Jesus! Someone over the past several weeks gave me the advice to drink orange juice 30 minutes before going for an ultrasound because it makes the baby active. Who knows if that's why, but baby was sure on the move!

We don't have another ultrasound till 20 weeks. That's 7 whole weeks away for those of you who have forgotten. I sure hope that ultrasound machine arrives in the mail soon!

Here is our 12 week 6 days ultrasound picture from today. I think head is on the left and body on the right, but you might be able to convince me otherwise.

I think you are right about the head on left, but I could be wrong... When I was pregnant with Caleb, my dr did an ultrasound at EACH visit! That is how he checked the heartbeat! No complaints from me!! It's exciting each time you get to see that little heart flutter.

$35k for an ultrasound machine is amazing. Have you checked Ebay or Craigslists?! Too bad you can't add that to your baby registry -but then you would need some REALLY wealthy friends and family! Oh well:(

If you could conveniently get a craving for those (WONDERFUL) cheesy/bacon/chicken things you make, say, next time you are in town, give me a call and we'll indulge together!

yeah right, for some unknown reason, this baby doesn't want me to eat bacon. I know, I know, that's just not Christian, as Nancy would say!
