1. We've gotten the room painted and the crib put together. Of course, we don't have a mattress or any bedding, but that will come. I hope! 2. We are signed up for childbirth classes for March 7th. That seemed kind of late for us but there is no other Saturday available between now and then. We are committed to too many activities! 3. I've received a breastfeeding book that I ordered to help prepare me since that task may not be that easy for me because of prior "reducing" surgery. It's 328 pages long. And I thought the 5 page pamphlet that came with it was overwhelming! 4. We've begun decluttering our house. If anyone would like to go shopping in our home, I will schedule a time for you to walk through. 5. We've been practicing what it will be like with a reduced income since I've only been getting about 28 hours/week the last few weeks because of low census. (We could have done without this opportunity.) 6. My first Fetal Fibronectin test done at 26 weeks came back negative which is great... no signs of preterm labor. And... 7. We've planned our last "without child" away weekend for Valentines weekend. We will be going to the King Tut exhibit in Dallas Saturday morning and then will be having dinner at Chamberline's Fish Market in Dallas, and then spend (a free) night at the Grand Hyatt DFW that night. We can't wait!
The other exciting thing we've completed is our final official ultrasound. Unfortunately Shannon wasn't able to go because of work. I did manage to video tape it but there was a glare from the window. It was good enough for him to get the idea. The sono tech said everything was looking good. After he did the measurements, he said that she (still a "she") was weighing in at almost 2 and 1/2 pounds! The average for 27 weeks is a little over 2 pounds, so she's doing great! It was so cool to see the difference in her from the last few sonos. Her face definitely showed some chubby cheeks that weren't there before. The desire to have the 3D ultrasound had wained until this ultrasound. I think we both definitely want to have one now that we know she's big. She is still breach, but most babies don't start turning until 28-32 weeks. She basically in a "V." Her head is up, butt down, and legs up by her head.
Here are the sono pics. You can see her face on the left and then part of an arm. She's got cute lips, too! Just look at those cheeks!
